It was suggested at the AGM held in May that SAEFA present a written proposal to SAIF members to consider and that a management committee be established to facilitate a formal investigation to the benefits and challenges or disadvantages of the proposal. SAIF members who wish to volunteer to serve on this committee must please contact the SAIF office for further information in this regard. Marina Biljon 011 559-6455, email: mbiljon@uj.ac.za.

South African foundry visit by members of Italian Foundry Association

SAIF in partnership with NFTN held a meeting with members of the Italian Foundry Association to discuss the IFA’s interest in visiting various ferrous foundries around Gauteng during the month of October. They are willing to travel to other provinces as well, but this will be limited to only two provinces during their week visit to the country.

The main purpose of this visit is for the IFA representatives to experience the status quo of the South African foundries and also share their experience and knowledge. They are also prepared to do a presentation on their future endeavours. We are urging our members to assist in this venture.

If you are able to assist in hosting the IFA kindly contact the SAIF office by the 19 July 2019, as we have to give feedback before the 27 July 2019. Please contact the SAIF office for further information in this regard. Marina Biljon 011 559-6455, email: mbiljon@uj.ac.za.
