  2. SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT

The South African Institute of Foundrymen (SAIF) is offering two courses in the following

  • Cores and Core Making
  • Supervisory Management

This training initiative is supported and subsidized by the

National Foundry Technology Network (NFTN), a proud initiative of the dti

The Cores and Core Making Module will be presented by Mr Nigel Pardoe and the Supervisory Management Module will be presented by Mr Johan Prinsloo as well as Mr Nigel Brain, all specialized experts in their fields.

The Cores and Core Making Module will consist of seven sections covering inter alia,

the following:

  • One Binder Systems
  • The Cold Box Process
  • The Hot Box Process
  • Shell Process
  • The FRC Process
  • Other Processes
  • Coating

The Supervisory Management Module will consist of seven sections covering inter alia, the following:

  • The Supervisory Role
  • Group Dynamics
  • Control and Leadership
  • Stress Management and Communications
  • Industrial Relations
  • Productivity and Work Measurement
  • Quality and Safety Management

These course is directed at team leaders, first line supervisors, operations managers and maintenance personnel in foundries.

Learners are only permitted to register for one module at a time, as both modules will be running at the same time.

Training will commence on Saturday, 23 August 2014

The courses will run over 8 – 10  weeks, and we expect conclusion on 18 October 2014

Times:                     08:00 am – 13:00 pm

Cost Per Student:     R 750.00 for the course.

Payment is required on registration of each student.

No registrations will be processed without the required documentation and confirmation of payment.
