Radioactive source stolen by scavengers in the City of Tshwane – Centurion Lake area

Stolen

A density gauge 1.85 GBq Cs-137 with Serial no. 70038 that was mounted on a thick pipe. The section of the pipe on which the source was permanently mounted, was cut away and removed together with other metal such as wire, pipes, etc. The security fences around the building was also demolished and stolen. It looked similar to the orange density gauge mounted on the pipe in the photo below and should have a radiation warning sign similar to the examples included.
