The South African Institute of Foundrymen (SAIF) in partnership with
Vaal University of Technology (VUT) is offering the highly commended training course
in Quality Control from (WCIF) to foundries in the VAAL area, as part of the
Foundry Diploma Course Programme.
This training initiative is subsidised by the National Foundry Technology Network (NFTN) – dti
The facilitator for the course on behalf of SAIF will be Johan Prinsloo,
a specialist in his field.
The diploma in Foundry Technology forQuality Control, consist of the following modules:
Section 1 – Basic Concepts
Section 2 –The Quality Gurus
Section 3 – Company Wide Assessment of Quality
Section 4 – Quality Improvement and Cost Reduction
Section 5 – Control of Quality
Section 6 – Supplier Relations
Section 7 – Manufacture
Section 8 – Inspection and Inspection Techniques
Section 9 – Introduction to Measurement
Section 10 – Quality Tools
Section 11 – Quality Techniques
Section 12 – Quality and Waste Elimination
Section 13 – Quality Statistics
Section 14 – Statistical Quality Control Charts
Section 15 – Acceptance Sampling Inspection
The course is directed at The course is aimed at: Team Leaders, 1st Line Supervisors,
Operators and Maintenance Personnel in Foundries.
The course will commence on 26th January 2013. The course will run over 8 – 10 weeks
and will finish on 6th April 2013

Cost Per Student: R 750.00 per learner for the entire course.
